Issues

Class size: dissolving classes; dividing classes – most are done;

Imbalance of 2 classes of the same grade in term of teaching pace/class work etc. school is working on it. This is an on-going task.

Lacking of culture class teachers – many students wish to register for cultural classes

Safety: café crowded during break time; Students playing basketball while cultural classes are in the same gym – improve monitoring in the hallway and café; divide gym to 2 sections using the auto divider (have already talked with custodian dept.).

Election Process

l      Council members are elected annually.

l      Member shall serve a min. 1 year and max. of 4 years.

l      Council nominates candidates for principal, assistant principals, treasurer and votes to confirm by majority to confirm appointment.

l      Teacher representatives are elected and voted by majority by all teachers.

l      Parent representatives are elected/nominated from class parent coordinators.

Major Council Functions

l      Nominate and vote on appointments of school principal, assistant principals, and treasurer.

l      Approve annual school budget proposal and submit it to CCC Board.

l      Vote to approve policy changes concerning school operation, financial matters, and overall school affairs.

l      Vote to approve council members annually.

l      Meet to discuss emerging issues affecting school operation and financial matters.

Parent Involvement

l      Act as a class parent coordinator.

l      Be an active volunteer.

l      Serve on committees .

l      Be actively involved in your child’s learning.

l      Communicate with teachers and school administrators, and council members with suggestions and on matters of your concern.

 

School Finance

Budget – School administration presented a well-balanced budget of 2005-2006 to School Council on 9/25. It was approved by the council. Pending upon approval of CCC board.

 

School Rules and Policies

      

Handbook distribution - one copy for each student; everyone should read through the handbook.

               

 

Facility -     rent 29 classrooms, gyms, café, auditorium, etc.
