On 14 March and 16 March, students will be taking the SAT Subject Test: Chinese with Listening MOCK Exam at the CCC Building.
On 6 January, Chinese School will be hosting the "Spring Couplet" activity. Here are the first stanzas.

End of School Year: The end of school year 2006-07 is approaching. The semester's last day is May 13, 2007. This is a double session school day. The agenda is as follows:

Arts and Crafts Class Re-opened at Chinese School: Chinese School has re-opened its arts and crafts class for the third period in Chinese School for the remaining weeks of this semester. Ms. Lu Chen will again be the instructor. She taught the same class last semester and received a very high appraisal from parents. At the request of school parents, the school has decided to open this class for the five remaining weeks. The fee is $20 per student. The school do not encourage a student transfer from other culture class in school. However, if parents insist, they may come to the school registration desk and inform school administration. Thank you.

Halloween Announcement, Plans for Last Day (Peisheng Zhao) - Please read the linked document to learn about the plans for a Halloween celebration (10/29) and the schedule for the last day of school (12/17).
Story Telling Event will take place from 2-3 pm on 11/12 and 11/19 in Auditorium of the Shaker Junior High School.
Teachers: If you teach the language class grade 4 and lower, please help your students to choose a story, and advise students to prepare the presentation, arrange rehearsal, and send students to final competition. To save time, we encourage group presentation. Please provide 1) the names of the participating students and 2) the selected story topic to Vice Principal Shao Lin before or by 10/29.

award certifications from the essay competition committee:

School will organize an Art Show this semester. Please submit your best art work (painting or drawing, any style) for competition. All age children and adults are welcome to participate. The deadline for submission is 11/20/05.
School will distribute 2005 – 2006 School Handbook to every school family on 10/16. Every parent or student should read through the handbook.
Fire Drill:
There will be a fire drill in the month of Oct. Teachers will talk about the evacuation procedures in their classrooms. Anyone who is in the school on that day should all follow the school Emergency/Fire Evacuation Procedures. We will post the procedures on the announcement board, and you can also find it in School Handbook.
2005 fall semester starts on Sunday, Sept. 11, at Shaker Junior High School in Latham. Language classes are 1:10 - 3:00pm and culture classes are 3:10 - 4:00pm.
SAT Chinese Mock Exam is scheduled for students of grades 8 and up during regular class periods on March 6th. Duan Sui, Dong Yin and Guo Lili will be in charge of administering and monitoring the exam. SAT Chinese Mock exam scores are required for graduation from the Chinese Schools. Students who have already taken the official SAT II Chinese Exam are not required to take the mock exam.
Congratulations to all four Chinese School students who took the SAT II Chinese Exam in November 2004. They all scored 750 or higher out of a maximum score of 800. Chen Zhi scored 800, Qiao An 790, Qiao Jin 770, and Gu Lin 750. Congratulations to their teachers, Wang Mingxia and Dong Yin. The high level of achievement by these students is a good indication of the high standards of the Chinese language and cultural instruction of the CCC Chinese School, the high quality of the teachers, and the commitment and hard work of the individual students.
